More than a muddle…
The Old Fashioned is a classic cocktail whose base spirit is Whisky, most often Rye or Bourbon. We are far from the first to slip Rum into the equation and we won’t be the last because it’s delicious! Our version showcases quality aged Rum as it too has an affinity with bitters and fruit. We start with the classic base of sugar and bitters but we take the orange slice off of the rim and put it to work by muddling it with the base. You can always add another orange slice to the rim if you like.
- 2 1/2 ounces of quality Aged Rum
- 1 raw sugar cube
- 3 dashes Angostura Bitters
- orange slices
- splash of club soda

Add the orange slice and muddle (smashing with a muddler in order to release essential flavors) all of the ingredients together. Fill glass with ice and top with the aged Rum, stir and a splash of club soda. Garnish with an orange slice. Add a Maraschino cherry if you must…
