Shake it Again Sam.
What’s in a name? When putting together our version of the Casablanca we found no less than two-dozen different recipes for this cocktail. While we are of the mind that this cocktail is based on Rum, we found versions with Gin, Vodka, and Brandy. Further the name itself is hard to tackle, as this cocktail was not featured in the classic 1942 film. In fact, the characters were often seen drinking Champagne cocktails.
Perhaps it is best if it remains a mystery. Our version of the Casablanca is fruity, fresh, and relaxing.
- 2 ounces of quality White Rum
- 3/4 ounce Briottet Crème de Cerise
- 3/4 ounce Cointreau
- 1/2 ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
Pour all ingredients along with a handful of whole ice into a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Enjoy!
